My ordeal
I’m finally feeling normal again after a horrible couple of days. On Sunday morning, I found a lump in my boob. I was terrified and spent the entire day feeling truly dreadful. Obviously I had to wait until Monday morning before I could make a doctors appointment, so Sunday was a very long day. To make matters worse, I was going to be on my own as James was going down south for a couple of days and left at 5.30am on Monday. I wasn’t sure how quickly the doctor would see me so I was dreading spending days worrying on my own.
Luckily I got a very early doctors appointment on Monday morning, and took a taxi into town. I saw a really lovely doctor who thinks I have nothing to worry about but said I was right to come in. She thinks it is probably hormonal and she wants to see me again in a couple of weeks. I was so relieved when I left the surgery, I just burst into tears! Then I had to walk through the streets of Kelso to get to a cash machine so I could pay for a taxi home. I was crying my eyes out, wiping my eyes with my sleeve because I had no tissues! I must have looked such a state!
I know all the statistics, and that my age and healthy background mean that the lump is unlikely to be anything serious but I’ve never felt anything like that before; my heart just sank, and my mind started wandering. I felt such awful dread, and didn’t feel like I could cope if there was really something wrong with me. I’m so glad I got to see a doctor so quickly and I’m feeling grateful that I’m so healthy.

Oh poor you! Every woman’s worst nightmare that one. Glad to hear you’re okay.

Oh gosh, I’m glad you got to see your doctor so quickly, and that she was nice. Good to keep an eye on it. I’d have been a state too I should imagine. I should check myself more often for things like that.

Oh no! I’m sorry you had to deal with that, but I’m so glad things worked out okay!
