Full of beans

Friday, 22nd August 2008

I’ve been literally full of beans this week (and vegetables and lentils), in an attempt to healthify myself after eating badly for a few days last week. I’ve noticed that when I eat really healthy stuff, I become really energised. It’s amazing! The meals I’ve been eating this week are ones I never seem to get sick of but James does. I’ll need to look for more recipes to keep him happy. I know it’s hardly a new discovery that healthy food makes you feel good, but I’m always surprised at how it completely changes my mood and as a result it changes my actions (and sugar/chocolate/alcohol can make me anxious and depressed). I end up not being able to sit still for two minutes. It’s great – I’ve managed to get loads of tidying done!!

Actually, I’m lying about not being able to sit still. I have been quite capable of sitting down and watching Gilmore Girls this week. I don’t know why but I had never heard of this programme until a few weeks ago when E4 started showing it. At first I thought it was just another mushy American teen show but it’s actually extremely funny, and it gives me the same kind of fuzzy feeling as My So-Called Life does. I’m a bit obsessed with it just now and I just wish I could afford to buy the DVD box set (£185 or something like that) but James says I can only afford to buy things with the money I earn (none).

It’s amazing isn’t it, how easy it is to forget that decent food and a bit of exercise make you feel better?

I love bean supper nights. :) I feel so good that night and the next day. When WH said I could start cooking beans for dinner, I don’t think he knew how far I would take it…

Ha, I LOVE Gilmore Girls! I have all the DVDs. I like that finally it’s getting played over here for others to see.
