Vivid dreams

I’m really disorientated today. I woke up with James at 3.30am as he was leaving for a business trip to Sweden. I don’t know how he does it. When he left, I went back to sleep and had some really weird dreams. I’ve been having such vivid dreams recently, that going to sleep is more entertaining than being awake. One of the dreams involved me discovering that just over the hill across from my house is a town within walking distance with a shop that sells the dog food I usually buy online. I was relieved because I’d just run out of dog food, so I decided to drive there. When I arrived I encountered many obstacles, met many people from my past, spent ages walking around a big supermarket, hid from the police, had my car stolen, got lost and couldn’t find my way home. It was so real that I feel like I should double check that there isn’t actually a town over the hill.

Another dream I had was particularly strange. Often I cry in dreams and then wake up crying too, and this was one of those. In this dream my grandad (a non-religious man who died last year) was a Catholic priest and he was performing a religious act on me, touching my face to try to bring back memories that would help me to solve ‘my problem’. I had to shut my eyes and tell him what I could see. I couldn’t see anything at first but then I saw hills and fields. I said ‘but it’s just home, it’s not a memory’ and he said ‘but you haven’t roamed the fields for a while have you?’ I shook my head and started sobbing, and he said, in a really overdramatic way, ‘it’s time to get out there again’. It was bizarre and has left me feeling very strange! So strange in fact, that I have been sitting staring at my computer for the past two hours but it only feels like two minutes. Maybe I should go and roam the fields?
