Sluggish
James is away on business down south today and won’t be back until tomorrow. It shouldn’t make any difference to my day until teatime when he doesn’t come home, but the days always feel really different when I know I have the entire night to myself. Sometimes I enjoy it but I’m not in the mood for being on my own today. It’s not that I feel lonely really, it’s more of a ‘don’t know what to do with myself’ thing, and the thought of trying to keep myself entertained all night doesn’t fill me with joy!
There are tons of programmes on Sky+ that I could watch but they’re all programmes that we watch together like Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares (the US version, where at least one person each episode has cried so far without fail – I do love Gordon’s masterful yet shy ways!), Dexter and Grand Designs. If I watch them now without James, I’ll end up watching them again with him later which I can’t be bothered with.
I’m feeling so sluggish today. I feel sort of guilty because I made today my ‘treat day’ instead of tomorrow to try to cheer myself up. I had a Yorkie bar and a bag of dolly mixtures and now I feel sick, and I’m slowly coming down from an anxious, jittery sugar high. I’m excited though because later I’m going to watch Working Girl which I bought on DVD for £4 from Tesco! I just love films from the 80s – the music, the fashion, the hairstyles! Talking of 80s hairstyles, how fantastic does Keeley Hawes look in Ashes to Ashes?! I’ve watched every episode so far but couldn’t tell you any of the actual storylines because I’m too distracted by how cool she looks, and too busy looking at all things 1981 (the year I was born).
Tomorrow I plan to get a grip of my life. I will tidy up the house, do some aerobics, eat healthy food and drink lots of water. I will!

Keeley Hawes really does look stunning doesn’t she? I’m so envious!
Sorry to hear you’ve to spend the evening all alone, last year I lived in an apartment by myself and every night was like that which is fine if you are used to it but I know that when you are used to having your man with you in the evenings it’s difficult. Am thinking of you!
(I love buying films from Asda and Tesco at crazy prices like 4 quid!)

Your ambition is admirable. When WH is gone, I’m all about cereal for dinner, no chores, and reality tv for the duration of his absence!

Keeley looks irritatingly good. I never managed to pull off that “big shirt falling off one shoulder” look though goodness knows I tried. Mind you, I was only 14 in 1981 so perhaps looking like KH would have been a bit of a tall order! The music is brilliant though - every track is sending me straight back to discos on Thursday nights in the Masonic Hall!!

I also love 80’s films!
Working Girl is fab.
Hope you enjoyed your evening anyway!
