Smile Challenge: Blog about something that makes you smile!

I’ve been tagged by Louise of My Life Most Ordinary and I’m smiling because I like to answer questions about myself!!

Where were you born? Edinburgh

Middle name: Louise

How old will you be this year? 27

Nicknames: Don’t really have any.

Are you taller than your mother or father? I’m shorter than my mum, my dad and my younger sister!

Do you cry often during movies? Yes! I like to cry.

What is your biggest pet peeve? Unnecessary noisy eating.

Favourite colour: Don’t really have one.

Favourite foods: Macaroni cheese, curry, chocolate.

Favourite restaurants: Shezan Tandoori and Native State (just for the nachos) in Edinburgh.

Favourite beverage: Tea

Favourite cold cereal: Weetaflakes

Favourite smells: I’m sure I like lots but I can’t think of any. I do love taking in the country air, especially when it’s raining. Not so much when the farmers get the manure going though.

Favourite time of day: Any time. Morning is nice. I’m not so keen on bedtime until I’m actually in bed.

What brand of shampoo/conditioner do you use? Vo5

Favourite make-up products? No idea – don’t really wear any.

How many pillows do you sleep with? One but it’s too flat and never comfortable.

Do you play an instrument? I played the keyboard for about eight years but I never really enjoyed it. Can’t even remember how to read music now.

Have you ever been skinny dipping? No, not a chance.

Did you do any sports in High School? I played basketball for years, and looked forward to joining the high school team but I didn’t really fit in with anyone on it, so I left.

What was the last movie you saw in the theatre? Haven’t got a clue – haven’t been for about two or three years!

What is your favourite article of clothing? I hate all of my current clothes. Nothing fits right. I loved my size 10, bootcut Levis from about 1996. I fell in love with them in the Levi store but didn’t have enough money to buy them. So my friend and I put all our money together, including our bus fares home, and we even had the staff searching the floors and the changing rooms for lost money. Eventually we had a decent amount, and they kindly gave me a ’student’ discount, even though I wasn’t a student. Then we walked all the way home from town! I still have them but I wouldn’t get them up over my knees now.

What is your dream vacation? I don’t think I really have one! I don’t like typical beach holidays or hot places. I’d rather go on short city-breaks.

What was your first impression of your spouse? He had the most squint teeth I’d ever seen but I liked them. He was also hyperactive and chatty but I knew that was because he was nervous and he liked me. I liked his enthusiasm!

If you were an animal what would you be? A big scruffy dog.

What is your favourite ‘me-time’ activity? Watching films and telly.

Favourite TV shows: 24, Heroes, Six Feet Under, My So-Called Life, The Office… lots more too…

What is your dream car? One that goes up in value over the years.

What is one of your weaknesses? Chocolate

What do you fix for dinner when there’s nothing to fix? Macaroni cheese

If you could live in a different decade/era, which one would it be? The 1980s! But only for a short while, just so I could go to lots of gigs of all the coolest bands back then like The Smiths, Wham! and Duran Duran. Then I’d come back to 2008 where I have Sky+ and broadband.

What is the emotion you feel the most? Apprehension! (Even when there’s nothing to be apprehensive about.)

Do you consider yourself outgoing? No

What is something you are constantly working on? Decorating and housework.

Any hidden talents? Not unless they are really hidden and I don’t know about them.

What is a word or phrase you overuse? ‘Really?’

What was the hardest thing that happened to you this past year? My grandad died.

What is the best thing that happened to you this past year? I passed my driving test!

What is one thing you hope to accomplish this year? Finish decorating the dining room!

The best piece of advice you learned this past year? STOP USING BLOGGER!!!!! USE WORDPRESS!!!! Blogger sucks. Everyone on Blogger should convert to a wordpress.com blog. I swear to you all that you won’t regret it!!!!!!

This was fascinating. I have a question:
Where is Native State (I love nachos!)?

And I was around in the 1980s and I DID see Duran Duran live. 3 times - twice in Edinburgh and once in a small club in Germany. HOWEVER I also saw Kajagoogoo and Nik Kershaw, so it wasn’t all good!! Mind you, I have yet to beat a Half Man Half Biscuit gig in Edinburgh at the old roller disco in about 1986 for sheer sweaty mental fun!

Was that sarcasm?! Native State is on Potterrow. It’s very cool in there.

Aw I loved Kajagoogoo and Nik Kershaw! Limahl was my first crush!
