Smile Challenge: Blog about something that makes you smile!

Today has been lovely and sunny! Although I love winter, and I love dark gloomy days, I think my subconscious prefers the sun because I’ve noticed how much happier I feel when it’s sunny. I felt really relaxed today. Yesterday I did more aerobics and pushed myself really hard to the point where I was quite literally gasping for air! It was great! I was surprised at how much I could actually do even though I kept thinking I couldn’t possibly do it. My new mantra is ‘I can do it’! It works even if I don’t believe it!

My feet, however, are in a bad way and I keep getting cramp when I’m working out. I’ve had my current trainers for a shamefully long time. My mum gave me money to buy some new ones for Christmas but I’ve been putting off buying them as I kept thinking I would have to actually go to a shop (shock horror!). But today I looked on the New Balance website where I got my running shoes, and saw that they also sell cross-training shoes! That’s perfect because they have a fantastic online measuring guide, with three different widths! Bloody great!!!! So today I ordered a pair and that really made me smile! Mostly I’m happy because I don’t have to go shopping, but also because NBs are my favourite make of shoes – they’re so comfy and last ages!

NBs

James won’t be home until late tonight as he’s going out for dinner with work colleagues. I’ll be settling in for the night with spagbol for tea (I eat real cow now - not fake Quorn cow like I used to!), a glass of wine (an Australian red of course – much to James’ dismay) and a film (maybe Pretty In Pink?).

That’s one of my favorite things about having my husband out for the night- eating and drinking things he hates without listening to him whine. :)

Love the smile a day! I love having those nights when I can do and eat and drink exactly what I want while the fiance’ is out. Tonight’s one of those nights for me too. I’m thinking some sort of chicken bake, bad reality tv, and a few hours of personal maintenance- all that shaving, moisturizing, bubble bathing I wouldn’t do otherwise.
