Why I blog
I write my blog mainly for me. I have always found writing to be very cathartic; I feel like I can express myself wholly in writing rather than through speaking, which is frustrating in some ways but nice in other ways.
I could just write in a diary, but with a blog I know that there’s a chance that other people will be reading it, so I write with that in mind. It might stop me from being completely honest about certain things (so I don’t get myself in trouble!) but it makes me concentrate differently on what I want to say, which I quite enjoy. I have to try to make it a bit more interesting than I would if it was just for me. I love the way I can have a vague idea of what I want to say, then I can blurt it out messily into Word, then give it a bit of spit and polish, and make it into a nice neat little blog post; a little insight into my world, there on the web for anyone who might be interested. How satisfying!
I have spent many an hour trying to find ways to increase the traffic my blog gets, but after a while I get really bored and realise that I don’t actually care about how many people read it. I would like to think that my family take an interest in my blog but I don’t think they do (and I haven’t really encouraged them to do so). Although, I did discover recently that my mother-in-law visits my blog daily and is left disappointed if I haven’t posted! That really means a lot to me. My husband also reads my blog and sometimes he even laughs. That’s enough for me!

Putting two comments into one here, but I also appreciate decent grammar. I have the occasional hopeless typing moment, but for the most part I’m fairly fussy. There is only so much mumbo jumbo I can process before I get fed up!
Blogging really is satisfying! My other half reads mine, though lurks and rarely comments. I just love knowing that he’s there, having a sneak peak into my life through words every so often.
