Setting the scene
I am sitting on the couch with my laptop. I’m listening to Jo Whiley on Radio1. (I hate Jo Whiley and her namedropping but I’m in a good mood so she is forgiven for the time being.) She is playing Coldplay’s ‘Shiver’ which is their best song in my opinion. I am actually shivering because of the ‘Shiver’ song (as I always do to any good song). It’s really cold in my living room but I like it. I’m using my laptop to keep my legs warm. It’s sort of grey outside. Jodie is sleeping on the floor beneath my feet. It’s a bit messy in here. I keep looking at my mug trying to remember if I’ve finished my tea or not (I have). It’s 12.30pm and I’m surprised. I had totally lost track of time. I am reading up about pregnancy and babies and stuff like that which is quite exciting. I am thinking about when I have a baby of my own and how I can’t quite believe that I’m allowed to just ‘have’ a baby if I want. Jo is playing ‘Born Slippy’ now. I hated that song when it first came out but now I quite like it. Actually I take it back – it’s still crap. I’m going to turn it off and watch ‘Dawson’s Creek’ instead. It’s the series when Joey and Pacey get together, and Jen is Jack’s fag hag. I like that one (relatively). But I do wish the writers had the guts to just cut their losses at this point, admit that Dawson was a terrible, terrible character and just ditch him. GOD his hair is RIDICULOUS!! Not to mention his pretentious vocabulary. Oh, and his eyebrows… and his dress-sense.

‘Born Slippy’ and ‘Dawson’s Creek’!? Quite the retro day you’ve been having.
